VBS (Vacation Bible School)

August 31, 2009

A few days ago my aunt came up to me and asked me if I would like to help out with their VBS at her church! I love volunteering for things such as this! VBS is a Vacation Bible school that happens only in the summer; it lasts a week, Monday to Friday from 8:30am until 12pm. I am with grades 2&3, and am really enjoying the group that I am with. The kids are wonderful, and I can already notice a connection between them and me. They are great young kids, causing me to be excited to go tomorrow! They learn things from the bible and its even cooler how the lesson that they learn is tied into their snack. For instance todays lesson was about Moses and the Burning Bush! Moses was a man that God asked to go to Egypt and ask the Pharaoh to let Gods people go. Now God did not ask Moses in a way that people would consider 'normal' he came to Moses through a burning bush. It was cool because the kids got to eat a snack that looked like a burning bush! Another thing that I love about VBS would have to be the people that I get to work with! My aunt is a great director! She does such a wonderful job and puts 110% into everything that she does. It is easy to see that she did the same for VBS.

I cannot wait until tomorrow! I am excited to see what the leaders have instore for the kids tomorrow! I am also excited to see my group of kids, they are all so different, but all share one thing in common, they are attending VBS and are in my group!

Be sure to keep reading to find out more about my week of volunteering!

Oh man I wish that post had just one picture. I can't image all of it. I need some frame of reference...
